Yeah….I just wanna take a moment to reach out to my little brother with this poem; to show him how much I love him…….it’s true. I think about you every single day, my little dude. And I recall the first time I laid my eyes on you: I was 19; you were barely bigger than my shoe. I held you in my arms and I barely had a clue. You were so fragile; I was scared of dropping you. Living in another city really makes it hard but thank God Charlotte ain’t really that far. Man, you and I have had some killer weekends and I’ll be coming home soon so we can speak then. So I see you’re growing up, and you’re getting kinda tall. About to pass me up, but never beat ME in a brawl. I’ll still stomp you when we wrestle on the floor; if you wanna test that, bro….we can go to war! Haha……nah….but for real, I see the plan that God’s unraveling as you become a man. So I think it’s time for me to give you some advice; that “big brother” stuff,…you know, the kind you get twice. And I ain’t afraid to give it more than that, bro cuz I’ve been down some dark roads that you don’t wanna go. I’ve been in bad places where demons only lurk and I barely made it out alive with scratches down my shirt! I opened up some doors that let the darkness run free; but it didn’t seem evil, it appeared good to me. It came in the form of all kinds of different trends…even forms that I trusted like my very own friends. And see, brother you just gotta be careful. Gotta stay armed in the Word and be prayerful. Gotta make sure you keep your head on tight in a world full of loose screws, dead to their sight. Cuz one day you’re gonna have to meet your Maker. You’re gonna have to give an account before your Savior. And one thing I wanna know for sure when I die is that I’ll see you at the feet of Christ, by my side…
